The Challenge:

1.Small budget
2. Update that would appeal to the current owner, but also appeal to the largest margin of buyers
3. Flooring and dining table must stay the same
4. Complete design must be accomplished via internet

The Solutions:

1. Dingy acoustic ceiling was removed (instantly brightened and updated the space)
2. The room was painted with a warm neutral contemporary paint color that compliments the tile floor. (Cochise by Dunn Edwards)
3. New contemporary parsons dining chairs in chocolate brown add texture and warmth, and help maintain visual space with their clean lines, and open sides.
4. Updated clean white light fixture now centered over the dining table creates a pleasing axis for the dining table and brightens the space.
5. A series of six inexpensive rod iron mirrored wall candle holders create balance, keep your eye moving around the space, and add an option for an intimate candle lit dinner.
6. Glass vase with white flowers gives the room life, and a pop of organic color.

Results:
Happy home owner who loves to come home now...not in any hurry to sell anymore

Happy Designing!!!

Christmas Room Makeover

Give your self the gift of a room makeover this Christmas!
Each year as we prepare for Christmas, we pull out all of stuff! Boxes, and boxes of stuff that we have accumulated through out the years. Half of it we no longer use, none of it matches, but some how we feel the need to put it all out. We scratch our heads, and wonder, why can't I make my house look like the one's I see on HGTV? So we go out, and we buy more stuff, in hopes that this will create the look we are trying to achieve. When it doesn't happen, we dedicate another box to Christmas stuff, pack it all away, and hope that next year we will get it right.
Are you with me? Been there done that? Well let the madness stop! This Christmas try something different, give yourself the gift of a Christmas room makeover.

Follow these simple steps, and achieve the designer look you have been longing for.

1. This year when you pull out all your Christmas stuff, take the time to go through it. Get rid of the broken items you will never fix, make a keepsake box for all of your children's ornaments, and donate items that you know you will never use again. You may even be able to earn some extra Christmas shopping money by posting items you will no longer use on ebay or craigslist, ( who knows, what you will no longer use may be exactly what someone else is looking for).

2. Separate your items by style, and color.

3. Look at the room you will be decorating, what is the style, and color palette of the room?

4. Now choose the items that work with the style, and color palette of your room, and use them. Add to them if necessary, BUT STAY WITHIN YOUR STYLE and color palette.

5. Now put everything else away, you should have plenty of empty boxes now.

6. Sounds simple... it is!

If you would like help with your style, or color palette, please feel free to email me a pic of your room, and I will be glad to comment!
